Biography

Vladimir Petrović was born on July 1, 1955 in Belgrade, and in the football world he is known by the nickname Pižon, which means pigeon in French. In 11 years at the club, as the fourth Zvezda's star, he played 497 matches and scored 117 goals, in addition to that he won five state championship titles and one cup as a player. He was the coach of Crvena zvezda twice, and in 1997 he won the national cup.

He spent a large part of his career in our club, where he earned the honorary title of the fourth Zvezda's star, that is, he was among the five best players who ever played at the Belgrade Marakana. Also, he is considered one of the youngest debutants in the most trophy-winning Serbian club, because he played for the senior team for the first time in 1971, as a sixteen-year-old, although he made his official debut on July 19, 1972 against Hajduk at the age of 17 years and 19 days. As a player, he won six domestic trophies, five titles and the national cup, and the big regret remained because of the lost final of the UEFA Cup in 1979 against Borussia Mönchengladbach. In total, he wore the red and white jersey 497 times with 117 goals scored. After eleven years at Marakana, in 1982 he went to London, where he played for Arsenal there for one season. He continued his foreign career in Antwerp, Brest, Standard and finally in Nancy in 1988.
