Biography

The golden generation of Crvena zvezda, which won the title of European champion in 1991, was declared the sixth Zvezda's star.

On that historic May 29, 1991, after a better performance of penalty kicks, the red and whites defeated Olympique de Marseille (0:0 - 5:3 on penalties) and thus entered the ranks of the immortals. In the same season, coach Ljupko Petrović's team won the national championship and were participants in the cup final.

After that, the country fell apart, a war followed and most of the players sought refuge abroad. Nevertheless, exactly on the day of the historic success, ten years later, a showcase match was held at Marakana, symbolically called "Meeting of Generations". Almost the entire team was together and played an exhibition match against the players who at that moment made up the strongest team of Crvena zvezda. Everyone from the "golden generation" waited until 2010 for the big recognition. Then, at the ceremony held on the occasion of nineteen years since winning the title of continental champion, it was announced that the entire team was awarded the status of the sixth Zvezda's star.

According to the schedule presented at the announcement ceremony, the sixth Zvezda's star is made up of the following players: Stevan Stojanović, Duško Radinović, Slobodan Marović, Vladimir Jugović, Refik Šabanadžović, Miodrag Belodedić, Ilija Najdoski, Robert Prosinečki, Dejan Savićević, Siniša Mihajlović, Darko Pančev, Dragiša Binić, Vlada Stošić, Goran Vasilijević, Ivica Momčilović, Željko Kaluđerović, Milić Jovanović, Goran Jurić, Rade Tošić, Vladan Lukić and Ljubiša Milojević.
