Biography

Miljko Ristić is a Serbian cardiac surgeon, university professor and former acting director of the Clinical Center of Serbia.

He graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Belgrade in 1972. He completed his specialist studies in general surgery in 1979, and received his doctorate with the thesis "Mitral valve reconstruction" in 1986. He trained in Brussels, Paris, Houston and Zurich.

From November 5, 2012 to August 4, 2015, he was the acting director of the Clinical Center of Serbia, when, by decision of the Government of Serbia, he was appointed as the main coordinator for heart transplantation and cardiac surgery for Belgrade, Niš, Kragujevac and Užice.

For a time, he was the forced administrator of the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases in Dedinje.

He is currently a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade and coordinator for cardiology at the Ministry of Health.

He was the president of the Medical Commission of the Football Association of Serbia, and for many years he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the FC Crvena zvezda.
