Our team showed its mental strength in the very first match, when, in a great atmosphere on home turf, they triumphed in the eternal derby 2:1.

From that moment on, it was felt in the air that it was only a matter of time before Red Star Belgrade would officially win its 30th title. By the end of the season, all rivals had been defeated, and the title was mathematically secured on May 5 with a 1:0 victory over Mladost. The real celebration followed on May 19, when Red Star Belgrade was presented with the championship trophy before the match against Napredak, which ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of our team. That match will also be remembered in history for the fact that long-time captain Nenad Milijaš ran onto the field in the red and white jersey for the last time, thus putting an end to his playing career.

Crvena Zvezda won 102 points that season, surpassing last year's performance. Our players scored 97 goals, conceded 20, achieved 33 wins, three draws and only one defeat.
