In a season that started infamously when it comes to European qualifications, Crvena Zvezda managed to win one of the most dominant championship titles in the club's history, its 28th in a row. An early elimination by Kazakhstan's Kairat in the Europa League qualifiers left many doubting the potential of the Red Star team, but head coach Miodrag Božović was not among them.
After the first three rounds in which two draws were recorded, Crvena Zvezda has started an incredible series of victories in the championship. The first of 24 consecutive victories was recorded on August 9, 2015, when they defeated Voždovac 3:2 away, and in the meantime, their biggest rival Partizan was defeated twice - at Marakana 3:1, and at the "JNA" stadium 2:1.
The last, 24th victory was recorded in the 27th round against Spartak (4:0), and our team was stopped in Novi Sad, where there were no goals on the second day of April 2016. Crvena Zvezda also managed to achieve the largest difference in the table compared to its eternal rival in the history of domestic football - the difference at one point was an incredible 32 points.

After the regular season of the championship ended, the playoffs followed, and under the new competition system, this meant that Red Star's points advantage would be halved. Despite the draw in the derby and the defeat against Čukarički, Crvena Zvezda managed to mathematically secure the championship title, their 28th in a row, with three rounds remaining. In addition to their outstanding performance and impressive series of victories, Crvena Zvezda also produced two top scorers from its ranks in the Serbian Super League - Hugo Vieira and Aleksandar Katai (Hugo Vieira's goal from the match against Voždovac was later changed to an "own goal", so Katai remained alone at the top of the scorers list).
