In the first, historic, season in independent Serbia, Crvena Zvezda became the national champion and cup winner, also winning the tenth jubilee "double crown". In the Serbian Cup final at the Partizan stadium, in front of 15,467 spectators, Crvena Zvezda completely outplayed and deservedly defeated Vojvodina from Novi Sad in the second half – 2:0. Goals were scored by Ognjen Koroman in the 62nd minute and Dušan Đokić in the 84th minute.
Crvena Zvezda previously eliminated Sevojno, Mokra Gora from Zubin Potok, Čukaricki and Partizan.
