With a victory in the final against Sartida, Crvena Zvezda triumphed in the cup competition in 2002. The match was played at the Partizan stadium, and with a goal by Mihajlo Pjanović in the 20th minute, Crvena Zvezda deservedly won 1:0.
Previously eliminated were Dubocica from Leskovac, Zeta, Radnicki from Obrenovac and in the semi-finals Vojvodina, on penalties. Mihajlo Pjanovic scored three goals in four matches, while Nemanja Vidic was very noticeable in defense.
