First national cup trophy Crvena Zvezda won it in 1948. In the final on November 29, Partizan was defeated 3:0, with Vukosavljević (2) and Mitić scoring. The cup was presented to the Red Star players by the famous commander and general Peko Dapčević.
That first national cup final was played at the Red Star Belgrade "Avala" stadium in Belgrade. The JNA stadium was under construction, so it was not until the following year that all final competitions, according to tradition after World War II, were played at that, at the time, grandiose stadium. Before the convincing victory in the final, Crvena Zvezda eliminated Spartak, Napredak and Naša krila.
