Table-topping Red Star kept the possession well and passed the ball around early on with the Novi Sad team rarely mounting any meaningful attack. Marko Marin has had a decent attempt on 20 minutes, but his free kick was kept out with ease.
It was 1-0 halfway through the first period as Richmond Boakye pounced onto a loose ball in the box and fired home for Zvezda's first competitive goal since mid-December.
Marko Marin pulled all the strings in midfield and it was the little magician who created Zvezda's second just a few minutes after the opening goal. Marin slid the ball forward into the path of Veljko Simić, who took a touch to round the goalkeeper before slotting into the empty net in style.
The tempo was lowered after the second goal as Vojvodina managed to get their first attempt. Graovac hooked just over after a scramble in our area, but it was the best the visitors would muster in the first 45 minutes.

As the match approached its final stages, Milan Pavkov replaced Richmond Boakye and made the most of his 15 minutes on the pitch as he finished well from another pinpoint Marko Marin pass to make it 4-0 late on.
The final whistle brought loud celebrations. It was clear that the fans enjoyed the return of football to Belgrade. Well done, red and whites!
