Crvena zvezda Head Coach Vladan Milojević spoke to the press ahead of tomorrow's UEFA Europa League Round of 32 First Leg against CSKA Moskva. It's going to be the first competitive match for the red-and-whites in 2018 and the Rajko Mitić Stadium Media Centre was full of expectation. You could tell that tomorrow's match is important.
„It's finally here. Ever since that last game in December we were waiting for this. It was good to relax for a few days, but we never stopped thinking about these matches and we couldn't wait to get back on the pitch.
„CSKA Moskva is a big club with an excellent team. They have loads of experience in the Champions League as well. They are very, very strong. They only flaw in the past months was the lack of a true goalscorer. They addressed it by re-signing Ahmed Musa so they are even more dangerous now. Their defenders have played over a thousand games for the club and they know each other's every move. It's their biggest strength. We know how they play and they know how we play. There are no mysteries.“
Zvezda's tactician hasn't yet decided on his starting eleven.
„I know it may sound strange, but there is a lot of time to go. I have some decisions to make. We've got another training session to go though and that is when I will decide on sime aspects of the team. I want to be certain that I made all the right choices.“
There are two legs to play, but Milojević says it’s important to make the home leg count and not rely too much on the return game.
“Being careful is fine, but I don’t want my players to simply wait for that second leg. We need to attack. That has always been the best way to defend. I want my team to understand that.”
