As always when we play against Zenit in St. Petersburg, we are greeted with brotherhood, so today the ceremony preceded the start of the match at "Gazprom Arena". After singing the anthems of Serbia and Russia, the match could start. The home team quickly took the lead, and the fifth minute was played when Claudinho hit the corner of the goal from 20 meters, which was guarded by Gutes. Zvezda also threatened in the ninth minute when Katai passed on the flank and crossed for Endiaje, who was blocked by a Zenit defender. Dalsio threatened after the corner, but the ball ended up just past the post.
Despite the impression that our team had more ball at their feet, the home team attacked more often, while in Zvezda, young Jovanovic was the most active player, as in the previous match. Ivanić tried a shot in the 31st minute from more than 20 meters, but the ball ended up over the goal. A minute later, Guteš made a fantastic save from zicer Mostovoja.
Zvezda equalized in the 49th minute when Dalsio played well past Alexander Katai, and he deftly managed to send the ball into the far corner from the left side. The red and whites looked better in the rest of the game than their rivals, and in the 63rd minute, Endiaje nicely left the ball for Šljivić, who wanted to return it to him, but at the last moment, Rodrigao managed to block the talented attacker. The debutant Puma also tried a shot from distance when he shot from about 20 meters after dribbling, but Adamov managed to save.
Endiaye could have brought Zvezda a turnaround in the 72nd minute and he had two attempts to do so. Unfortunately, the ball didn't go into the goal, but surely all the star players could be delighted by the game review of Dalsi, who once again found himself in the role of someone who creates possible opportunities for our team. The home team managed to get a chance in the 79th minute through Isidor, but Gutesa was up to the task again. A minute later, a shot from distance on the other side was tried by Kang, but the ball ended up near the post. The well-deserved victory was brought to our team by the talented Stefan Leković, who was the highest in the jump in the 85th minute after Kanga's cross from the corner. He jumped perfectly in the box and headed the ball under the crossbar of the helpless Adamov. Zvezda could have scored another goal in stoppage time when Puma shot hard, and Adamov deflected the ball to Sremčević, who headed it over the goal, although it was an extremely awkward situation.
