Meet Zvezda's rival - Milan

Milan Football Association was founded in 1899. The Italian giant has spent only two seasons since its establishment outside of "Serie A", which speaks volumes for how long this club has been at the highest football level. They play their home games at the "San Siro" stadium, which they share with their biggest rival and Zvezda's opponent in the Champions League - Inter. In the club's premises there are the following trophies: seven Champions League cups, one Club World Cup cup, 19 Scudetto cups, five UEFA European Super Cups, two Cup Winners' Cup trophies, five Italian Cup trophies, seven Italian Super Cups, two "Serie B" cups ", one Mitropa Cup and three Intercontinental Cup cups. All these trophies make the Milan football association one of the most trophy-winning clubs in the world.

Crvena zvezda and Milan have met as many as six times throughout the rich history of both clubs. The red and whites are still waiting for a victory against the "Rossoneri", considering that in six games, Milan won twice, while there were four draws. The most famous matches between these two giants of European football are certainly those from the 1988/89 season, when fog "prevented" Zvezda from knocking Milan out of the round of 16 of the European Champions Cup. In the first leg of that double-header, the score in Italy was 1:1, and in the second leg, when the score was 1:0 - for Red Star, the match was interrupted due to fog and repeated the next day. After the regular part of the game, the score was 1:1, and the club from Italy advanced after a better penalty shootout. It turned out that that double match was crucial for them, because they later reached the trophy of the best European competition. Club legends such as: Stevan Stojanović, Goran Jurić, Ilija Najdoski, Refik Šabanadžović, Goran Vasiljević, Dejan Savićević, Robert Prosinečki, Mitar Mrkela... played for our team.

The current coach of Milan is Paulo Fonseca. The Portuguese arrived on the bench of the Italian great at the beginning of this season. He plays in the 4-2-3-1 system, which is certainly familiar to our team. Milan's greatest quality "lies" in fast wingers and very strong and staunch stoppers. The beginning of the season for the "Rossoneri" was marked by the team's lackluster performances, which led them to the fact that in the first three rounds of the best Italian league, they still do not know of a victory. They recorded two draws and a defeat, which currently places them in only 14th position in "Serie A".
