Crvena zvezda players played the last game of the season last weekend, which was followed by a celebration on the occasion of the third double crown won in a row, which speaks volumes about how successful this competitive year was. The title gains additional importance when you take into account that it is the most convincingly won in the history of our club, because the point difference compared to the second-placed TSC is as much as 22 points.
We won the most convincing title so far in the 2017/18 season, when Vladan Milojević's company had as many as 17 points ahead of their eternal rival. After the 30th round, Zvezda had an advantage of 12 points, and in the playoffs we made an additional difference of 11 points. However, due to the rule that the points are divided, the final score was 17, which Miloš Milojević's team managed to surpass and enter the history of the club with golden letters. Also, the sharing of points prevented Miodrag Grof Božović's team from maintaining the most convincing difference in the history of Serbian football in the 2015/16 season. After the 150th eternal derby, the difference was as much as 32 points, while the first part ended with a plus of 28. At the end of the championship, Red Star won the title with a 14-point lead. The title was won by the same margin in 2020, when the playoffs were not played due to the corona virus.
Vladan Milojević, who led the team until December, and Dejan Stanković, who took over the helm in the spring part of the championship, are partially responsible for the 31st cup of the national championship. Red Star had an advantage of 13 points in the 2020/21 season. In that competitive year, Dejan Stanković's team won the historic title without defeat, with over 100 points scored and goals scored.
The 2022/23 season will be remembered for many beautiful things, and in addition to becoming the only club in the history of Serbian football to win the third consecutive double crown and the sixth title in a row, we also became the first participant in the Champions League for the next season, and the point difference compared to the second-placed team - TSC is 22 points and we can say that Miloš Milojević said goodbye to Red Star in style, and that his team once again showed that it is the best in Serbia.
