Milojević: Monaco showed quality, let's move on

- We played against a team that is dominant in all football elements. We tried to neutralize all their positive characteristics, which is to close the middle of the field and the spaces on the flanks. That was our idea. Duarte's injury messed up our plan a lot, because he was supposed to connect the lines of the team, so we could use the speed of Silas and the body of Sheriff. After that we had to change. Regardless of everything, we didn't have a player who could withstand the pressure with Sheriff and save the first ball. Monaco is a team that plays hard and strong, with a lot of pressure and pressing. We were always late, we needed extra time to play the ball and find the right solution. We couldn't manage. Regardless, we held Monaco, and we conceded a goal in stoppage time, which is unacceptable. During that period, you have to deal with much better situations. There were a lot of changes later, and we ended the match with ten players. Let's move on - Milojević began.

Bruno Duarte's injury in the early stages of the game caused a change at the very beginning of the match.

- We are going into the analysis. You have to understand that for these kind of matches you have to have strength, body and speed. This is one level where you have to "fight" and win duels. Against Inter, we had players who won one out of eight duels - we can't deal with that. The only player who could match was Sheriff, who used the body all the time. He is strong and powerful. In the domestic championship, he is "ignorant" and "doesn't know anything". That's a big difference. In the Champions League, we cannot achieve what we can in the domestic championship. The intensity of the game that they have, we cannot challenge it either in training or in the game. We have to shorten the spaces and play faster. We know it, but it's hard to make it happen.

Peter Olanjinka was brought down in the opponent's penalty area during a corner kick in the first half of the game.

- I didn't see it, but when he ran I saw that his leg was bleeding. It's the Champions League, we shouldn't talk about it. It was a disputed situation, I can't say now. It doesn't matter that much.

Vladan Milojević referred to the level of competition that comes with the Champions League.

- There was a player change. We cannot play at this level. We have to win defensive and offensive duels. It is a big consumption. These are normal things for the Champions League. The difference is between the teams, because they play high-intensity games every week. We can't get to that and that's why there's a lot of spending. These are teams that have been playing together for years. We can't do that, we have another concept. We don't have stable budgets. I would like Andrija Maksimović to stay with us for three years. We play against Bode Glimt with one team, with Benfica with another team, and today with a third team. We have injured key players, and Olanjinka obviously has a serious hamstring problem. We don't have Mirko Ivanić, Hwang left, and these are players who have a serious impact on our game and can play at this level. It's not easy, but I have no objection to the players. They give their best, we just wanted to be there. Without any alibi, let's move on. Great experience for us. The fans were there for us, to support the boys.
