In a game that had the epithet of a derby round, the first big chance happened in the 13th minute, and the center of attention was Tadić, who shot a half volley in a great way, but the ball grazed the left post and ended up in the outfield. Four minutes later, Ranković sent a cross from the corner, Stojanović ran violently onto the ball and almost scored a Eurogoal, but the attempt ended just over the crossbar. After the exciting start of the match, the events on the field mostly died down, and Zvezda had another opportunity through Mladenovski, who stood out with his moves in the first half, but he did not manage to find a way to the Kraljević net, so the halftime went goalless.
The second part of the game continued in the same rhythm, so the first opportunity was seen 20 minutes from the start. Kostov took the break from the side, and as usual, Roganović dominated the jump and sent an attempt with his head that ended up just past the left post. In the 71st minute, Đorđević drew applause from the large crowd when he pulled the ball from his own half and tried to surprise the Teleoptik goalkeeper with a very clever shot from 40 meters away, but he lacked just a bit of luck as the ball went just past the goal frame. Uroš Đorđević proved to be a golden replacement, as only four minutes later he was one of the most deserving players for the leadership of the red and whites. In the 75th minute, he made an extraordinary breakthrough on the right side and served Mladenovski "as if on a plate", and he put the ball into the visitors' net with a very soft touch to the great joy of the whole team. From the moment they gained the lead, Slađan Nikolić's players "stood on the ball" and routinely brought the game to an end, thus registering their fourth victory in five games played since the start of the domestic championship.
