The Red Star football club has always been considered a team that nurtures its academy and provides opportunities for talented young footballers, so that they can later become quality players and, above all, people. Accordingly, three young footballers extended their contracts with our club in the days following us. In addition to Andrija Maksimović and Veljko Milosavljević, the super talented Adem Avdić also did it. The 17-year-old left back, who is training with the first team, signed a contract as far as the rules allow - until 2027. Avdic is currently recovering from an injury and is in the process of rehabilitation, and he expects to be on the field very soon.
- Recovery is going smoothly, everything is going according to plan. I was worried about the injury, but I'm not anymore, because with the help of our doctors and physiotherapists, I'm in better and better physical condition. As for the matches, I am already training as a group, with the team, so I am no longer in the individual program, accordingly, I expect to be able to help the team already after the representative break - started Avdić.
He closely follows his peers in the youth team, as well as senior colleagues.
- I follow all the selections of Crvena zvezda, they are all my colleagues and friends, and some of them are even my peers. As for the footballers from the first team, with whom I am now training, I am immensely glad that they have succeeded in one of their goals, which is the reformed Champions League. Of course, now the appetites have grown, so something bigger is expected, but we have to go step by step. The youth team doesn't have the best possible start in the Youth Champions League, but I'm not worried. It's a cohesive group of super talented guys, and I have no doubts that everyone together, including me, will come out of this period much better and stronger. There is coach Milijaš, who always knows what to do. He has a lot of experience and has already been through all this, so he and the entire coaching staff will surely know how to lead the team on the right path.
He reflected on his time in the Red Star first team.
- I have been with the first team for a long time, so I have already got used to their way of training, rhythm and speed. I need a little more feeling after the injury, but it will all fall into place in a week or so. Only that time I spend with the first team is something very important for me. Everything is on a more serious level and the experience that all football players share with me is invaluable for my development. The captain - Uroš Spajić advises me the most, both about football and about proper sports life, and I am very grateful to him for that. Of course, the other football players accepted me brilliantly, but he does his captain's job, and he really goes out to meet us younger people, for everything he needs - the talented defender explained with a smile.
Finally, Avdić also spoke about working with coach Milojević.
- Cooperation with a coach like Vladan Milojević is flawless. He is always available and willing to help. He doesn't differentiate between us younger players and our older teammates, which helps me mature faster. I'm really satisfied with the relationship I have with him, and I think it's great to have such a coach, and the good results are just confirmation of his work - concluded Avdić.
