FC Crvena zvezda won the 35th title of Serbian champion in the last competition year 2023/24, and our team was represented by as many as 15 young players who fulfill the rule of bonus footballers.
According to the propositions of the Serbian Superliga, every team must have at least one player under 21 years of age on the field from the first minute. In the previous season 2023/24, the bonus players were footballers born no later than 2002 and younger.
As many as 15 young guys performed for our team, counting the entire competitive year. The largest number of bonuses were represented by players born in 2002, including Ivan Guteša, Naser Điga, Marko Stamenić, Vladimir Lučić and Stefan Mitrović. Young Gutesa made his debut in the Super League at the very end of the season against Napredek, leaving a great impression. The Burkina Faso national team received a Serbian passport in the second part of the season, so it actually became a bonus, even though Điga won his place in the team before that. Stamenić played 35 matches in the season, including 29 in the Serbian Super League. An injury prevented Vladimir Lucic from playing in several matches in the spring part of the season, so we saw him in 24 duels, while Stefan Mitrović left the club during the winter break after nine appearances in the domestic championship and one goal.
From the class of players born in 2003, who were drilled through our Youth School by the young perspective coach Marko Neđić, we watched Nikola Knežević and the Mituljikić brothers - Nikola and Jovan. Knežević scored one goal in three matches in the national championship, and in addition he scored two more in the Serbian Cup.
Nikola made two appearances, while his twin brother Jovan played one duel in the national championship.
Viktor Radojević, Ognjen Mimović and Uroš Kabić were the representatives of the red and white bonuses from the generation of 2004. The tandem of backs was transferred from loans to the first team at the beginning of the spring part of the league. Radojević made nine appearances, and Mimović 13 with one assist recorded. Mladi Kabić, who was sent to Turin for winter training, played three matches in the Serbian Super League.
Also, three great talents that emerged in our football academy represented bonus players. In the first part of the season, Kosta Nedeljković and Jovan Mijatović, who in the meantime left the "Rajko Mitić" stadium, fought for the starting position with their quality. In the championship, Nedeljkovic registered two goals in 14 matches, while Mijatovic scored as many as eight goals in the championship in the same number of matches as his friend from Smederevo, with two assists. Prodigy Jovan Šljivić "danced" as standard during the entire season, so he played 18 games, counting only the Super League, and scored one goal.
The youngest of all bonuses was center forward Uroš Sremčević. Arriving at the address of Ljutica Bogdan with the epithet of the best young striker of the national championship, the popular "Sremac" played nine duels in which he scored two goals.
Aleksandar Kahvić (generation 2004) should also be highlighted, who spent the entire season on loan and played in the preparatory games. Also, Zvezda debutants in senior football Veljko Milosavljević (2007 generation), Andrija Maksimović (2007 generation) and Veljko Vukojević (2006), who played in the Serbian Cup, where the so-called bonus rule does not apply.
