Zvezda Shield in Europe

The President of the Board of Directors of the Crvena Zvezda Sports Association and the general director of the football club - Zvezdan Terzić spoke highly of the successes.

- It is a great honor and pleasure to see you in such numbers at this championship gathering of ours, and we have gathered before the start of the European season where we will have the opportunity to represent our club, our city and our country on the biggest European stage. A record number of our athletes will represent Red Star on the European stage this year. As many as 14 clubs from our Sports Association will have the opportunity to complete our treasury of trophies during this season. We are proud of all of you who fought for participation in Europe with your daily dedicated work. You will wear the "Star Shield in Europe" this season. The star has always been a symbol of Serbia and a symbol of success. It is a tradition and history that we inherited from our illustrious predecessors and that has been going on for almost 80 years. The name and coat of arms we carry obliges us to give our best at all times, both on and off the field. We have to be a positive example for everyone else, because we are Red Star. I would like this gathering to be traditional, to gather every year before the start of the European season and to sincerely support each other. The Champions League starts on Thursday, in a new spectacular format. We invite you all to come here to our stadium and support our football players in the match against the famous Benfica. In this way, we show the unity that should adorn our red and white family. I want to wish all of you health and sports luck. I deeply believe that with your commitment and character, you will show that you are worthy of the famous coat of arms you wear on your chest and that you will properly represent Red Star on the European stage - said Terzić.

The president of the Red Star Sports Association - Stojan Vujko, also praised all the athletes who contributed to this historic success.

- The record is that we have 14 clubs in European competitions. It is a huge success for everyone who earned it through hard work. I want to congratulate you all on that, and to tell you that the entire Crvena Zvezda is proud of you. We want you to return with distinctions, and to wear Zvezda's shield with pride and to return either with it or on it - said Vujko.
