Star moments – Triumph in the 143rd eternal derby

Today, our fans fondly remember the eternal derby that was played on November 17, 2012. The Maracana was flooded by our club's supporters, and 50 thousand people attended one of the best and most interesting eternal derbies in the last 15 years. Delije awaited the then first team with a choreography and an inscription - "Do you know how to become a champion? You go out on the field when it's most difficult and you win."

It didn't start well for Aleksandar Janković's team, since in the 9th minute Aleksandar Mitrović beat Boban Bajković to give the guests the lead. It didn't take much for the red and whites to equalize, and that was done by Filip Kasalica, after a masterful move by Darko Lazović, and returned the game to the beginning. However, the carelessness of our defense was again in the foreground, and Milan Jovanović's own goal in the 16th minute gave the eternal rival the lead again.

In the second part of the game, the red and whites played much better and were the more dominant team throughout the second half. A few minutes after the referee's whistle, Milivojević sent a projectile behind the goalkeeper Petrović and scored one of the most beautiful goals in the history of the derby. It was an additional impulse for our footballers, so the last half hour was turned into a total siege of the black and white goal. The effort of the Zvezda players paid off, when Kasalic threw into the penalty area, and the captain, Nenad Milijaš, did the best in it and set the final result of the game in the 74th minute.
