Zvezda thanked Borjan

After 309 games, with one scored goal and 156 matches in which Borjan's net was at rest, the former captain of our club officially said goodbye to Crvena zvezda. At the lunch attended by members of the management of Crvena zvezda, we made a fitting farewell to the former red and white captain in a friendly tone. The star thus once again showed that it is one big and happy family.

The president of Crvena zvezda - Svetozar Mijailović had only words of praise for Borjan during all these years that he guarded the net of our club.

- Today, the management of FC Red Star gathered, as well as former aces who marked their time, just as Borjan did his, in order to give him recognition so that he understands that Zvezda is still his home and that the doors of our club are always open to him. Borjan's episode in Zvezda marked this time, one of the most successful in the club's history. We are happy that one of our important sports figures was sent off in this way. I told him to continue doing what he does best, as well as a lot of success in his Sprot career, but also that there are many more joys in life besides football - said Mijailović.

Borjan won six titles at Zvezda, as well as three cups, i.e. three double crowns. He had a farewell message for the star players, but invited them to come to the stadium on Saturday from 8 pm and support Vladan Milojević's players at the season opener against Jedinstvo from Ub.

- Phenomenal, the whole management of the club came, coach Vladan Milojević, general manager Zvezdan Terzić, a really beautiful experience, full of emotions for me. I feel guilty for leaving Zvezda, because this is my second home and I hope that one day I will return here in a different role. My whole family and I are big stars, and already on Saturday I will come to the game with my son in order to give the players, coaching staff, management and everyone a good result at the start and register the first victory of the season. I would like to tell the fans that I love them more than anything in the world and to thank them for the wonderful seven years I spent at the club. There will always be another Zvezda fan in me - underlined the experienced goalkeeper.

Borjan received a framed jersey from Crvena zvezda as a symbolic gift for all that he has done for our club.
