Zvezda for the first time since 1992 directly in the Champions League

During the 2022/23 season, the first team members of our club brought many joys to the fans. The double crown was won, and Crvena zvezda already in April became the first participant in the group stage of the best European competition. The success of the red and whites becomes even more important when you take into account that after 1992, our club secured direct placement in the Champions League for the first time and thus confirmed the European level that has adorned it for years.

After the biggest result in the club's history, which was achieved in 1991 when Zvezda's golden generation ascended to the European and world throne, the next direct placement was secured the following season. Back in 1992, the competition system was changed, so the season after Zvezdina's most successful on the European stage can be seen as experimental, and later the competition system, which included the group stage, would continue to live until today.

In the 1991/92 season, Crvena Zvezda was in a group with Sampdoria, Panathinaikos and Anderlecht, and the red and whites almost missed reaching the final again and the chance to win the trophy a year after the famous triumph in Bari. The fans of our club have been waiting for more than 30 years for a new direct participation, and it is important to point out that it was Crvena zvezda that made the greatest contribution to the growth of the coefficient of Serbian football with the great results it achieved on the European stage in recent years.
