Zvezda and Olympiakos - Brothers forever!

With this contract, the Belgrade and Piraeus red and whites have confirmed their common vision and that their goals and activities in terms of sports are completely compatible. Both clubs want to continue the long tradition and successful cooperation in all fields, and all in the function of the common good and public interest. There is also an unbreakable brotherhood that binds us together.

All the people present in the Media Center were addressed by the president of the Board of Directors of SD Crvena Zvezda, and the general manager of our football club - Zvezdan Terzić.

- Thinking about today's ceremony, I was trying to find the right words without eulogizing these two sports clubs. However, facts are facts, what Olympiakos is to Greece, Red Star is to Serbia. These are the two most successful sports clubs in Greece and Serbia, which are in the rare company of the most permanent and famous sports collectives in Europe and the world. We are bound by Orthodoxy, the red and white color and all the traditional values of our peoples. Next year, Olympiakos will turn 100 years old, and Red Star will turn 80 years old. They have had brotherly relations for many years, and another coincidence shows that our friendship is not accidental - May 29. On that date, Red Star won the Champions League in 1991, and Olympiakos won the Conference League in 2024. I would especially like to congratulate my friends on an extremely successful season, in which their clubs appeared in five finals, and for being the most trophy-winning sports club in Europe at the moment. We are extremely pleased that after signing this protocol, 16 joint clubs will exchange ideas and experiences. The sports friendship between the sports clubs Red Star and Olympiakos is inseparable from the friendship between our two brotherly nations and our fans. We are sending a common message today, the power of sports through friendship, but also that the most beautiful discovery is that they can grow separately. Once again, I welcome you to Belgrade, to make you feel at home - said Terzić.

After Terzić, the president of SD Olimpiakos - Mihalis Kunturis - spoke.

- It is a great pleasure and honor for me to be here today. As you know, next year is of historical importance for both clubs, because Olympiakos completes a century of existence, while Zvezda completes 80 years of long history. Over time, the two clubs are inextricably linked at the administrative and fan level, with a huge fan base, which unites them and follows them at all matches. Every meeting between Red Star and Olympiakos presents a real friendly atmosphere. Our red and white colors, competitive dominance and passion represent the elements of our societies. I want to inform you that the clubs have the most titles in the five main team sports. The history of every sports club is an indication through the titles. We want to further strengthen ties at all levels in the coming period. We announce the historic signing of a memorandum of cooperation, which has multiple significance for Olympiakos and Red Star. We aim for even better communication, exchange of opinions, joint action that will not focus exclusively on the sports segment, and the purpose is to have a humanitarian and social dimension, with the necessary promotion of actions through social networks - said Kunturis.
