Zvezda performed a miracle in the 2018/19 season and managed to reach the group stage from the first round of Champions League qualification. The fact that now, five years later, we have direct participation in the most prestigious club competition in the world, thanks to our own results, speaks volumes about the prosperity of Red Star, as well as the fact that we do not plan to stop here either. On July 11, 2018, we started with a match against Spartaks from Jurnala when the score was 0:0, and in the second leg we were able to advance with goals from Ben and Krsticic. Then we defeated Suduva with 3:0 in Belgrade and 0:2 in Marijampolje, when Radonjić shone with three goals in the double match, with goals from Ebisilio and a cheerful Ben. The star players also remember the visit to Spartak in Trnava after the "thin" 1:1 in Belgrade, when Ben was the scorer again, both here and in Slovakia, but Radonjic completely broke the rival's resistance and ensured Zvezda a new group stage in European competitions. But we weren't satisfied there either, so what followed was one of the biggest double-matches that Red Star played in the 21st century - against Salzburg. It was 0:0 in Belgrade, and then everything stopped in 90 minutes in Austria. Pavkov with a "turban" on his head, Krstičić's attitude on the field and finally the actions of Degenek and Ben, led to the final 2:2 and something that will forever remain as one of the most beautiful star-studded evenings for the "new" generation.

In the group stage, Crvena zvezda managed to draw with Napoli at Maracana, and then to give everyone whose hearts beat red and white another unforgettable evening. That November 6, 2018, we beat Liverpool at the Maracana with a score of 2:0, a club that became European and world champions that season, and Pavkov became an absolute hero with two fantastic goals.

And when it seemed that the next season would be even more difficult, because repeating successes is the most ungrateful thing, Zvezda once again denied all those doubters. We started again from the first round and eliminated an old acquaintance Suduva (0:0 and 2:1 (Marin, Boaći)), and then Helsinki (2:0 (Boaći, Pavkov), 1:2 (Jovančić))), yes would arrive at another anthology evening, and this time the location was Copenhagen. The capital of Denmark hosted us after 1:1 in Belgrade when Pavkov was killed by his rival, and the identical score was on the scoreboard after 120 minutes of play in the second leg, with the fact that this time Boaći was the scorer. The famous penalty series and an unforgettable night when, first of all, Borjan, and then Pankov gained the status of a hero among star players, and we had another group stage of the European competition in our pocket. However, the heroics did not stop there, so after 2:2 against the Young Boys in Switzerland (Degenek, Garcia), in the second leg, Vukanović wrote the pages of Zvezda's history in golden letters and led us to another Champions League.

In the group stage, we recorded a 3:1 victory over Olympiakos at the Maracana, when Vulić, Boaći and Milunović scored.

Now, we have the opportunity to make an additional step forward, and it should be noted that in our ranks we still have Champions League heralds in the form and work of Milan Rodić and Miloš Degenek, who participated in both odysseys, as well as goalkeeper Zoran Popović, who did not register minutes. Nemanja Milunović and Mirko Ivanić also participated in the second Champions League.
