MUTUAL DUELS

We played one competitive match against Železničar in our long history, and it was a duel from September 30, 1945, when we won with an even score of 18:0. Jezerkić shone with six goals and Tomašević with five goals, followed by three-time scorer Horvatinović and two-time scorer Stanković and Pečeničić. We also played three friendly matches and achieved the same number of victories with a goal difference of 18:1, which means that we have maximum performance against the Pancevo team.

TEAM FORM

Red Star players are in second place in the Serbian Super League with 31 points won from 13 matches. We recorded 10 wins, with a draw and two losses, but we are going to visit a team that is desperately fighting for survival. The Železničar team won 11 points in 13 matches, with a goal difference of 14:24, which is enough for the 14th position. Zvezda, on the other hand, has a goal difference of 34:12 and we are the most efficient team in the Super League. In the previous match of the Super League, Zvezda beat Radnik 3:1 with goals from Mijatović, Spajić and Kanga, while in the meantime we played against Leipzig in the Champions League and suffered a 1:2 defeat. Železničar is slowly rising and in the previous three games they achieved two victories and a draw. In the last game, in the end of the match, they reached a draw against Vojvodina (2:2), with goals from Šušnjar and Lakićević.

OPPOSING PLAYERS

Železničar plays in a formation with three stoppers, but also two attackers, which makes them one of the more unique teams in the Super League. The experienced Mladen Živković is in goal, and the trio of defenders in front of him consists of Bojan Balaž, Vojislav Stanković and Marko Konatar, a former footballer of our club. In front of Konatar, another former Zvezda player acts as a slightly more offensive fullback, namely Stefan Hajdin, while on the other side is Ivan Lakićević. In the midfield are the young Branislav Knežević, as well as another footballer well known to the star public - Aleksandar Kovačević, while in front of them is the captain and main player of the team - Aleksandar Đorđević, who has scored five goals in the season so far. Đorđe Šušnjar and Lazar Romanić are active in the attack. It will not be a surprise if Jevgen Pavlov, Dario Grgić or Stefan Purtić start the game, but they are certainly the first players that the strategist will look towards when making changes.
