After eight matches played, Mark Rose's team has five wins (Stuttgard, Union Berlin, Augsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach, Darmstadt), two draws (Bayern Munich, Bochum), but also one defeat in the first round against Bayer Leverkusen. The goal difference in the championship is 19:7. The players of RB Leipzig opened the season very well with a victory in the German Super Cup, when they defeated the Bavarians with 3:0. In the most prestigious European competition in the current season, they defeated Young Boys in Switzerland (3:1), but also suffered a defeat against Manchester City at home (1:3).
