MUTUAL DUELS

Crvena zvezda and Young Boys have played four duels so far, and the Belgrade red and white have a positive score from their clashes. We met for the first time on July 28, 2004, when we visited our rival at the "Hardturm" stadium in Zurich as part of the second round of Champions League qualification, and the result was 2:2. The double scorer for the team from Ljutica Bogdan was Nikola Žigić. In the second leg at the Maracana, we won convincingly with 3:0, while the goals of Bojan Miladinović, Milan Dudić and Nikola Žigić sent the fans into delirium and decorated our victory.

The next double match followed in 2019, and the coincidence took place in the fact that the match in Switzerland ended again with 2:2. For Vladan Milojević's team, Miloš Degenek and Mateo Garcia shook the yellow-black net. In the rematch in Belgrade, Zvezda succeeded in the playoffs for the most prestigious club competition to qualify for the group stage. Although the final score on the scoreboard read 1:1, thanks to the away goal rule, our club played with the 32 best teams in Europe for the second year in a row. The only goal at that time worth placing was scored by Aleksa Vukanović with an assist from Milan Rodić.

Zvezda is currently in third place in the Serbian Super League table, after eight matches played and 18 points won. Barak Bahar's players triumphed in six matches, with two defeats, and the goal difference is 22:7. So far, in the championship, we have defeated Vojvodina, Napredak, Mladost, Spartak, Novi Pazar and Radnički from Niš, and we have suffered defeats from Voždovac and Čukarički. In the last game, we defeated Radnički from Niš at the Marakana with 1:0 in the domestic championship, and the man of the decision was Mirko Ivanić thanks to a goal in the early stages of the match. When it comes to the Champions League, in the first round of the group stage, we hosted Manchester City, and after a brave fight in England, we lost 3:1. The only scorer for the red and whites was Osman Bukari.

Young Boys is currently the second-placed team in the Swiss championship table with 17 points won, while the leader Zurich has two more. Rafael Vikki's players played eight games in the championship, and statistics show that they won five matches, drew twice and lost. They were better in yellow and black than Lausanne, Winterthur, Servette, Lugano and Grasshopper, drew with Yverdon and Luzern, and lost to St. Gallen. Also, in the Swiss Cup, they triumphed over Xamax by a minimal score. Through the qualification for the most prestigious European competition, they eliminated Maccabi from Haifa in the playoffs with a convincing 3:0 victory in Bern, while in Israel the duel was played without goals. However, Young Boys suffered a defeat against Leipzig at home with 3:1 in the first game of the Champions League, but the match awaits after the victory in the championship over the above-mentioned Grasshopper.

BEST OPPONENT PLAYERS

The Swiss team plays in a 4-4-2 formation, where the midfielders form a diamond shape in the middle of the field. However, Young Boys can surprise and change the game system, and the match starts in a 5-3-2 formation, as was the case in the match against RB Leipzig. In goal is the standard Anthony Racoppi, and his replacement is four years older David von Balmos. Levin Blum and Saidi Janko share the minutes at right back, while Ulises Garcia, who arrived in Bern in 2018, plays at the end of the left out line.
