The players of Crvena Zvezda in this competitive year equaled the legendary generation led by Gojko Zec in the 1976/77 season, which was the only one in the history of our club to win the title of national champion six rounds before the end. They won the second title of national champion without defeat, thus repeating the success of Dejan Stanković's team from 2020/21, also, for the first time, we won six championships in a row and tied three double crowns, which no one in this region has managed.

Real Madrid's streak was unattainable for all European teams, and the giants were undefeated at home in the national championship for a little over eight years (1957-1965), and in that period they played 121 matches. Crvena zvezda was the closest to breaking the record, considering that in the period from 1998 to 2004, we tied 96 games in which we did not capitulate. A historic opportunity is in front of our players, who in the last six years have been breaking records and raising standards, and next season they will have the opportunity to overtake the biggest club in the world in terms of this parameter. The last defeat of our club happened on April 18, 2017, while the unreal streak started 12 days later against Vojvodina, when we celebrated with 2:0 goals by Gelor Kanga and Srđan Plavšić.

In the period from 2017 to today, we played as many as 113 matches, where we mostly recorded victories with a few draws, while we met the eternal rivals, Čukarica and Radnički from Niš, the most times - nine games each. Merakli had the worst time when they came to the Maracana in the last six years, considering that they have all the defeats, and the goal difference is convincingly on our side and is 26:1. The team from Banovo brdo, which has the same score as Nišlije, with a slightly better goal difference - 24:2 - did not fare any better. In as many as nine eternal derbies, we have five wins and four draws, we scored nine and conceded only three goals, which confirms the absolute dominance of Zvezda in the domestic framework.

Crvena zvezda will embark on new adventures with a new coach - Barak Bahar, in the next competition season. Our boys will do their best to make a new breakthrough in Europe, this time in the Champions League, with continued dominance in the national championship and the Cup.
