Stojić: The Zvezda players wanted to play football, we expect them at Marakana against Jedinstvo

- It's a great feeling to be in Red Star again. I'm still getting to know my new teammates and the coach's requirements, so as much as it's nice, it's also hard in a way, because everything is new and I have to adapt - pointed out Stojić.

The defender of our club also reflected on the way of work of the head of the professional staff - Vladan Milojević.

- That is certainly important, to watch and watch, because it will make us all better. Surely he has already proven that he is an extremely high-quality coach, so we try to absorb and listen to his demands, because they will certainly make us better players and certainly a better team, which means that we will be up to the task this season.

Stojić also recalled his first term in Crvena zvezda.

- I've been here before and I know what it's like to wear Zvezda's jersey, so it's difficult, first of all because of the fans. Every game has to be won, trophies have to be won, I'm aware of that and if I wasn't ready, I wouldn't be here.

The stopper of our team also spoke about the match against Zenit.

- I did two training sessions before the game against Zenit. I didn't have enough time to fit in and adopt all the requirements, for sure there were some omissions, however I believe that as time goes on it will get better and better. It is a great experience to play against a club like Zenit and against such a team, which has exceptional individuals. The match was demanding, but I am glad that it was my first game since returning to Zvezda and that we won the trophy.

Stojić pointed out that he is ready for the challenges that await Crvena zvezda in the 2024/25 season.

- I believe in myself and my quality. I think that self-confidence has brought me a lot over the years. I work hard every day, meet my obligations, so I'm calm about that. I am sure that I know what is expected of me and when I arrived, what I talked to people from the club and with the coach, so I am ready to answer all requests.

The staunch defender also reflected on the period of his career that he did not spend in Red Star.

- As a young player, it is very difficult to get into the first team, especially when the results were being produced, as they were in that period. I had to take a detour, but again it's simply a matter of character whether or not you are the one. Year after year, I tried to first of all make good decisions, be diligent, respect myself and my career, and then the dice fell into place by themselves. I am happy with the progress in the last couple of years, and as I progressed, so did the awards.

Nemanja Stojić gained the necessary experience while playing for Grafičar.

- A very important period was spent in Grafičar, where I built my character. It may have taken a long time because I was there for three years, but we were making progress. I think I have built character through those three years, tempering and playing in the B team, so I believe that Graficar can be a great help for young players to find themselves and to know their character.

The Red Star first team member also spoke about participating in the European Championship.

- Regarding national football, it is an honor to represent your country in a major competition. The success itself is that we were not there for so many years, so we left after 24 years. We made a big result, going there, we played well, but we didn't get any big results. All in all, I can be satisfied and I hope that in the rest of my career I will be invited to play for the national team.

Nemanja Stojić made it clear that he wanted Marakana.

- I missed it. On the other hand, I was focused on myself and my team, but I hoped to return one day, whether at 25 or 30 doesn't matter. For sure I am very happy that I managed to re-sign the contract with Red Star, I hope to play in the Champions League and win trophies.

The Serbian representative will once again have the opportunity to play in the same team with Luka Ilić.

- Surely we both wanted each other. We played together in the youth team, after that he went abroad, made an exceptional transfer. That's where our paths diverged, but we stayed in touch. When he was supposed to come to TSC, whoever asked me, I praised. He certainly means to me as an appearance on the field, because he is an outstanding player, with many qualities, and off the field because he is a great guy, normal, down-to-earth, cultured, so it is phenomenal to have such a player first of all on the field and a friend in the dressing room.

Stojić also had a message for the fans.

- Surely the fans expect the Champions League, which is also our goal. We are working hard on preparations, to prepare as well as possible for the playoffs. In addition, the trophies of the national championship and the Cup of Serbia are the primary goals. We want to open the championship in the right way and go step by step, with the great support of the fans, I believe. I can't wait to enjoy the atmosphere, which only they can create, and the match against Jedinstva is the opportunity for that. I am sure that the star players wanted to play football and that they will come to the stadium in large numbers - concluded Nemanja Stojić.
