Crvena zvezda captain Uroš Spajić expressed his expectations ahead of the play-off match for the Champions League, which the red-and-whites will play against Boda Glimt at the Rajko Mitić Stadium on Wednesday, August 28 at 21.00.
- We know what awaits us. Expectations are high, we are aware of the game ahead of us, as well as the opponent. You saw that it was difficult for us in Norway in the first match, but even then I said that it was not the maximum of Red Star. I expect that tomorrow, with the support of our fans and positive energy, we will be better and more aggressive, and I hope that we will achieve the result that we all want so much - said Spajić.
The red and white defender believes in a better version of Red Star in tomorrow's match compared to the duel that was played in Norway.
- I would not separate foreigners and domestic players, we are all one team and we are at the service of the team. Of course it was difficult after the game there, we had higher expectations. Those few days were not easy. We prepared well, analyzed, saw what was bad and what was good. I hope that tomorrow we will see a better Zvezda than it was there, we have to be better if we want to win. The role of defensive players is very important, it is certainly easier if we do not concede a goal. I expect a lot of racing, transition, they are a very dynamic team, quick, fast, aggressive. We have to respond to those things if we want to achieve a result, and it is clear to everyone that we want to.
Spajić pointed out that the fans from the stands will provide additional energy to the red and whites.
- Every player who is in Red Star has a huge responsibility. First of all, according to the fans, you saw that they also came to Norway, I don't know in any way in such numbers. We remained indebted to them, because we could have done better, the whole team was aware of that after the game. There is some energy left that is saved for tomorrow. Individually I am irrelevant, I am here to help the players and the team. I think I am one of the seniors in the team, I have experience behind me, I played in Europe. As much as I can help, I will help. It is important that tomorrow we all be as one and be brave, that we take that energy from the stands and do our best to beat them. Crvena zvezda is a huge club with tradition and history. We have no right to underestimate anyone, regardless of the name of the club. It is up to us to play the best possible game and try to advance - concluded Spajić.
