Maracana birthday celebration ideal for Zvezda reinforcements

In the 2018/2019 season, Zvezda celebrated the 55th birthday of the Maracana, and the red and white jersey was borrowed by Marko Marin and arrived as a big reinforcement before the very start of the Champions League group stage. In the aforementioned competition year, instead of Napredek, the opponent at the birthday celebration was Radnik from Surdulica. Our team won dominantly, with a score of 6:0, and the biggest reinforcements of our club in the summer transfer window were shown in the best light.

The most famous name was definitely Marko Marin. On his debut, in the game against Radnik, he scored a goal and assisted twice and showed that he will be a great reinforcement for the Champions League games, the first of which was played against Napoli at the "Rajko Mitić" stadium.

The player who wore the red and white jersey for the first time in the second term in the match against Radnik is the fan's favorite - Richmond Boaći. Zvezda's striker continued where he left off and scored two goals against Radnik. He even managed to assist, namely the debutant, the already mentioned Marko Marin.

In the match against Radnik, two more reinforcements, Goran Čaušić and Jonatan Kafu, made their debut, and both of them managed to enter the list of scorers in their debut match.

Six years later, Zvezda can boast of the great reinforcements that arrived at the club before the celebration of the 61st birthday of the Maracana, but also, as was the case in 2018, before the first game in the Champions League, which they will play against Benfica at home from 18 hours and 45 minutes.
