Difficult conditions for the game due to the high temperature awaited the football players of both teams when they entered the field. Kostov opened the match in the fourth minute with a tricky shot on the ground, which flew just past the left post. In the 12th minute, after the first big chance of the game, Mladost gained the advantage when, from a duel with Bulatović, the player of the home team, Bondžulić, came out as more successful and, with a bit of luck, scored a goal for 1:0. The red and white reacted brilliantly after conceding a goal and equalized only eight minutes later.

Bubanja sent a very awkward shot, and the goalkeeper of Mladost - Jolović reacted and deflected the ball into the corner, however, this only delayed the inevitable, because just after that, the great Igor Bubanja was the highest and with the assist of Kostov brought the equalizer. Vasilije Kostov was visibly in the mood for the game, and soon built a favorable position for a shot, but shot outside the frame of the goal. Considering that, in addition to the convincing play of the cadets, they are often overshadowed by his intervention, it is worth mentioning Bekonja, who was on a level and followed the game brilliantly, thus intervening outside the penalty area on several occasions. Five minutes before the break between the two halves of the game, Tošić had a chance to shake the net, but the Zvezda striker's attempt ended up in the hands of the Mladost goalkeeper. Kostov was again in the center of attention at the very end of the first half, when he hit the goalpost after Misic's pass, so the result remained unchanged.

The start of the second half was marked by Mladenovski, whose phenomenal shot went into the opponent's goal, but the goalkeeper of Mladost once again saved the team in the 62nd minute and kept the score equal. Despite the initiative of Slađan Nikolić's team, the home team took the lead again in the 77th minute through Draškić. During stoppage time in the second part of the match, Ranković had the last chance to change the outcome of the match, however, he failed to react to the ricochet in the penalty box, so the result remained unchanged.
