Today, on the field behind the Maracana, numerous Zvezda legends gathered to mark the day of Italian sports in the world. The Embassy of Italy, in cooperation with the Novak Djokovic Foundation and the Intesa Foundation, organized a humanitarian match in which the legends and veterans of Red Star competed against the Italian national team, which was made up of actors and singers. The income from this match will be donated for humanitarian purposes, more precisely for the reconstruction of kindergartens in Serbia.
Before the game, we attended the introduction to a great sporting and humanitarian event. First, everyone present remembered the untimely deceased master of football - Toto Skilaći - with a short video, and then with a speech. Then came the bringing of the cup to the field, and then the players of both teams came out onto the grass, accompanied by great applause from the stands. The team of veterans of Crvena zvezda was led by Boško Đurovski with the captain's armband on his arm. Then the children's choir sang the national anthem of Italy, as well as the national anthem of the Republic of Serbia. Then, before the match itself, the ambassador of Italy in Serbia - Luka Gori, addressed all those present, while the legendary Ratomir Dujković spoke on behalf of Crvena zvezda.
The Red Star veteran team was represented by Zvezda legends: Boško Janković, Aleksandar Luković, Dragan Bogavac, Slavoljub Janković, Nikola Lazetić, Boško Đurovski, Nenad Todorović, Miloš Bursać, Nenad Stojanović, as well as Miloš Vasiljević, Ljuban Milosavljević and Viktor Miletić.
Our team won this match with a score of 9:5, and Dragan Bogavac was declared the player of the match. The match took place in a great mood and sportsmanship, and everyone present enjoyed it, and what is even more important, help was collected for those who need it the most.
