Nenad Milijaš leads Zvezda's youth team in the Champions League

- It is a great honor and pleasure for me to take over the youth selection and be a coach for the young players in Crvena Zvezda. Maracana is my home and I feel happy here. After the end of my playing career, I had the privilege of staying at the club and being with people who achieved incredible success in the championship and in Europe as Zvezda coaches. After several years, it's time to take a step forward, that is, an independent coaching engagement. To my great personal satisfaction, I am staying at the club that I love and where it is the most beautiful to play and work. Leading the junior selection of the club is a big challenge, because in addition to the results, the development of young footballers is required, and we are also expected to participate in the Champions League, which will be a big undertaking. I would like to thank the management of the club for the trust shown, as well as the leaders of the Youth School who warmly welcomed me and provided support for further work. I would like to mention once again that it is a huge honor for me that I will be doing my first independent coaching job in the club to which I gave everything, and which made me a football professional and a human being - Milijaš said.

The favorite of Crvena zvezda fans was born on April 30, 1983 in Belgrade, and he played for our club on three occasions. He played 205 competitive matches in the red and white jersey, scoring 55 goals with 42 assists. During his career, he played for the A national team of Serbia, and after hanging up his football boots, he joined the coaching staff of our club headed by Vladan Milojević. Later, he established himself as an assistant in the staff of Dejan Stanković, and then Miloš Milojević. Working in the first team of Zvezda as an assistant coach, he gained knowledge and much-needed experience, and as the head of the professional staff of our youth team, he will significantly improve the development of young players and we believe that he will successfully lead the young team of Zvezda in the Champions League.
