German clubs at Maracana "smell" success

So far, Zvezda players have played a total of 36 games with German representatives in European competitions, 18 of them on the away field, and the same number at the popular Maracana. Our club can boast of extremely positive statistics when it comes to duels at the "Rajko Mitić" stadium. The red and white team won 10 times, five matches ended in a draw, and they suffered only three defeats. Also, when we talk about the matches where we hosted the Germans on the home field, the goal difference reads 37:23 in favor of our club and shows that the red and whites, in addition to victories, regularly delighted the star-studded crowd with goals.

The most memorable and dearest game in the hearts of all star players is certainly the return match of the semifinals of the European Champions Cup, when a place in the finals of the best European football club competition is chosen. On April 24, 1991, the Red Star football players hosted Bayern Munich and fulfilled the dreams of the entire red and white public, but at the same time they entered the history of the club in golden letters. Even today, fans fondly recall the famous line "The sky opened, the stadium exploded" and live for new Star moments.
