National representative of Burkina Faso - Nasser Điga is the new reinforcement of Red Star! The stopper, born in 2002, arrives on a one-year loan from Basel with the possibility of buying out the contract.
The talented defender was welcomed by club president Svetozar Mijailović, as well as sports director Mitar Mrkela, who commented on Djiga's playing qualities.
- Nasser Điga is a young player who comes from Basel and has the profile of a stopper that Barak Bahar was looking for from the very beginning. He's tall, tough and quick, and that's what Bahar wanted to make our defense look exactly to his liking. I believe that Điga will quickly adapt to the demands of our coach and that he will be a good reinforcement for Zvezda. We are ready for the Champions League, we worked hard on it, we have experience from the previous two participations that will help us to be good in the following matches - said Mrkela.
Điga, who wore number 24, was extremely pleased with his arrival at our club.
- I am satisfied that I came to a big club like Crvena zvezda and I will do my best to live up to expectations. I am looking forward to playing in the Champions League, I have not had the opportunity to be a part of such a big competition until now, although I have played in the Conference League. In any case, I have a lot of motivation to prove myself, and what I'm especially eager for is to make my debut in front of Zvezda fans. I was at the match against Novi Pazar, and I was delighted with the atmosphere. The fans are really fascinating, so that's all the more reason I'm happy to be here. It's not gratifying to talk about myself, but I think that I am a modern defender, that I know how to play with the ball, that I am fast, strong and good in the game "1 on 1" with the opponent - said Điga.
Nasser Djiga was born on November 15, 2002 in Bobo Djoulas, a city in Burkina Faso. The 187-centimeter tall stopper grew up in the local Vitesse before arriving at Basel at the age of 19, for which he played 22 games and scored a goal, while he spent the previous season on loan in Nimes, France. There, he played in 21 games in the high-quality League 1, and in the meantime became a standard representative of Burkina Faso.
