Crvena zvezda players will welcome the Bodø/Glimt team tomorrow at 21.00. as part of the rematch of the play-off qualifiers for the Champions League, and the expectations before the match were expressed by the head coaching Vladan Milojević.
- The second half of the playoff game awaits us at our stadium. The result from the first game is well known, and tomorrow we have a very important match waiting for us, because the stake is entry into the Champions League. In the first game, Bode was better and won, but that's only the first 90 minutes. During this time, we recovered a little, and some players improved in terms of physical fitness. There are no bad teams in the playoffs, Bode is well known to us and I am sure that tomorrow will not be any easier than in Norway. It is up to us to prepare in the best possible way. We have problems with some players, but not so much that they won't be able to play tomorrow. We will see in which composition we will come out. We are playing in front of our fans, the stadium will be full and it is up to us to do our best to enter the Champions League - Milojević began.
He spoke about Bode in chosen words.
- I am the most responsible for everything that happens. I will say that today and always. I don't know if people are aware that we are playing against a team that has had a coach since 2017. They play Europe every year, they have a system, they keep the level of games. We are still not at our best at the moment and I hope we will keep getting better. Our concept compared to theirs is quite different. We have new players being implemented. I don't know if Bode can do differently than what he played, but the fact is that they have strengths and weaknesses. It is up to us to prevent the virtues and exploit the flaws, that is the essence of sport. We have a clear plan for tomorrow.
Milojević is aware that the stake is high.
- We are only thinking about the game. We played the first half and we are only thinking about what awaits us tomorrow. It's a big bet. We have a safe Europe, but we are thinking about doing our best. Someone will say that this is the most important game for Zvezda, but for us, every game is like that. I will ask the players to be concentrated and with the support of our fans, everything will be according to God's will.
He also joked about the question about the lineup for tomorrow's match.
- I will see what a site that guesses the lineups will publish, so I will also know which team I have and whether Glaze will defend. Joking aside, I'll decide tomorrow.
Milojević respects our rival, he is aware of the pressure and everything, but he wants to make the stars happy.
- I've been playing football since I was nine years old, and now I'm 54, and if I'm doing something, in popular terms, I'm kicking the ball. I look at things in one way, the public, audience and journalists in another. I have never made predictions, and there is malice in those comments. All teams are good today and football is played everywhere. Many clubs play three competitions, every year football improves. It might have been different before, but today everyone has good teams, coaches, budgets. There are no bad teams in the playoffs, and no good draws. The opponent may be more or less attractive, but all teams are worthy of respect. We are the Star and history does not allow us to be afraid. It's hard at Zvezda... Great pressure, public expectations, but we have to be like that, because we want to fulfill the dreams of all of us - the fans, the city, the country.
Milojević has no doubts that the fans will create a phenomenal atmosphere.
- Our fans are champions in terms of atmosphere. Every time they organize something spectacular and I believe that it will be the same tomorrow. I am proud that we have them. Everyone who has ever played at the Maracana against Zvezda knows what the atmosphere is like. It is a privilege to have such fans.
We always practice penalties.
- Penalties are part of the game. The players shoot penalties after each training session, so we are ready there.
Bode is in the middle of the championship, while our championship has just started.
- The Bode team is in a good moment in the championship. We have room to improve and show more. Many players were not with us all the time - preparations, injuries... It is important that they give their best tomorrow. We try and work. Bode is a quality team, and I repeat that there is no easy opponent. Whether it is attractive or not, I don't know, but there are countries like the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Korea and the like where phenomenal football is played, but they are not attractive. We are traditionally a bigger club than Bode, but in the 21st century everyone plays football.
Milojević also explained why the match against TSC was postponed.
- We have postponed matches before, it is a regulation and many other clubs do it. We have more time to prepare the game, and this next match is the most important for us because the stakes are high. I'm not in favor of delays, if you will be honest, but we used that right and we didn't do anything wrong. We had a little more time to get ready, train and work.
He analyzed the game in Norway.
- We prepared the game as we thought was best and based on our capabilities. We are not making a show, but the opponent is also wondering. Sometimes they surprise us, sometimes not. I wouldn't go back to that game, it's archived. As for Bode, the same thinking remains, they are quick, well prepared, and to think about anything, you have to answer them there. They have adapted to their field, but now we are the hosts. We are playing in front of our fans who we have also heard in Norway in terms of support and cheering. It will be a good match, I am convinced of that, and we will see how different it will be compared to seven days ago - concluded Milojević.
