Milojević: We will fight until the very end

- I gave my chosen ones a hand after the game. I told them openly what I was not happy with. I wanted us to be at a high level with the fight and commitment, and I think we gave everything we had at this moment. We played against an opponent who at this moment is playing football with great possession, with great intensity and pressing. With a high last line, they "shortened" our pitch. We prepared the game very well in a short period of time, and I am very proud of my players and the entire coaching staff. Simply, we played against Barcelona, and we parried as much as they "allowed us". I expected that we would have Radonjic, even if he played 15 minutes, but we also experienced that little bit of bad luck. We wanted to "sacrifice" possession and try to attack their depth through open passes. As a coach, after a game like this, I really have nothing to blame the players for. For the first time, we met with players at this level, with a team that plays with high intensity. It's a team that attacks from all sides, but basically, they didn't surprise us anywhere, and we responded as best we could - Milojević began.

Vladan Milojević revealed what the head of Barcelona's coaching staff - Hansi Flick - told him after the game.

- In the new format of the Champions League, we face much better and more organized teams than was the case before. Previously, it often happened that the favorites won the desired points in the first three matches, and then calculated. Today we saw Barcelona in full glory, only without Olmo from the start. We should learn what the Champions League is. We are very unlucky, due to injuries to two or three important players. I spoke with Hans Flick in the mixing area, and he told me that we prepared the game brilliantly and that the atmosphere was phenomenal. It's simply the Champions League, I hope that after the next representative "break" the players will slowly return to us, and in any case we will fight until the very end.

Then the head of the coaching staff looked at the playing staff and the previous match against Monaco in the Champions League.

- We certainly need players for more options in the rotation. It's very difficult when you rotate the same players in games against Boda Glimt and then Inter and Monaco. Today we tried using a different formation, through a different game to get chances, but surely if we had more players available we could have done it a little differently. Unfortunately, we don't have them, and on some level it feels like this.

Additionally, Milojević spoke about personnel problems.

- We have a problem with injuries, and we play with high quality teams. So far, we have played with teams that are from the league of five, and that are the leaders in the championships of their countries. We should train and continue to do our best and try to correct it and be better. I hope that the injured players will return, so that we can be stronger.

The whole team, as well as the coaching staff, still believe in passing on.

- If I didn't believe in moving on, we wouldn't have played the remaining games. I am an athlete, as are my players, and of course I believe in moving on. We have four more games, we need to learn from the previous ones and prepare for the next ones. The next game we will play again in front of our audience, so there is no reason not to believe in that. A team from a good league is coming to us again - Germany, and those are the charms of the new format. The schedule is very important and how you win the games, whether they are at home or away. The very new format of the Champions League is difficult. We have to turn to the first next opponent, which is Stuttgart. We still have twelve points in the game, and I am optimistic because I believe in the team.

The experienced strategist praised the performance of the Zvezda youth team against the Barcelona junior team.

- We have a constellation of excellent young players. I watched the game, they played a very good match. They can learn a lot at that level, and for sure there are a lot of excellent players who will start training with us, and when they are there they should work and wait for the opportunity.

At the end of the conference, Vladan Milojević pointed out that in the coming period our team will take more risks in the game.

- I think we have to take a lot of risks. Against Inter, we wanted to control the game despite the fact that we were playing in Milan. In the Champions League, whoever you play against, you have to take some risks. You have to respond to their game with something, and disrupt them in some way - concluded Milojević.
