Katai close to the title of the best scorer of the Superliga

Katai is synonymous with the success of our club, looking at the last decade in which the skilled dribbler managed to break numerous records, both team and personal. The experienced footballer has scored a total of 114 goals in the red and white jersey and is close to surpassing the legendary Darko Pancevo, who hit the net twice more in competitive matches, which would put him in seventh place on the list of "most kills" by opposing goalkeepers since 1945. so to this day.

However, Zvezda's top 10 have yet another feat ahead of them, and that's domestically. Namely, Katai scored 102 goals in the Serbian Super League, 90 of them in our club, and 12 while playing for Vojvodina. Currently, the flattering recognition of the most effective player in the history of the national championship belongs to Milan Bojović with 103 goals, so the favorite of Zvezda fans only needs one to equalize, that is, two goals to be completely alone at the top of the list.

Magico opened the new season in a great way by scoring a goal against Jedinstva from Ub in a convincing 4:0 victory at the start of the 2024/25 competitive year. If we look back at the summer preparations where Katai played excellently and his current form, Zvezda's ace will have the opportunity to break the record of the best scorer in the history of the Super League of Serbia already on Saturday against Mladost.
