The Crvena Zvezda team, led by Slavisa Šuša from the bench, started the season in a dominant way and achieved three victories in the same number of matches played. They defeated Kolubara (3:0), Teleoptik (7:1) and Rabona (9:0), while the head of Petlić's coaching staff spoke about his impressions of expectations, as well as what has been done so far.
- After two years with the boys born in 2012, I returned to the generation I led before and I accepted it with great pleasure. Now the boys are older and more mature, but I didn't need to adjust, because I know them quite well. We recommended two footballers to the older generation, Fabio da Silva and Nemanja Vitakić. They have adapted well to the new selection and I expect them to do great things for the team this season, to progress individually and be even better - began Šuša.
At this age, the most important thing for a young player is to develop in the right way with a winning mentality, with as few injuries as possible, and this is exactly what the young expert emphasized.
- Most of the boys passed the preparatory period without injuries, which is extremely important for us. We successfully completed the training process and the children understood what we want from them on the field, which could be seen in the matches we have played so far in the championship. We will continue to work hard and improve together for the rest of the season. A Red Star player must have a winning mentality and that is something that is constantly being worked on. The development of young football players is our primary goal in every competition, a lot of work is also done on psychological and pedagogical methods, as well as on the behavior of the players themselves, which is extremely important for life. For now, the children respect that and therefore have a good starting point for continuing.
This is the first season for boys born in 2011 in which they will play big football and that is why the initial steps are the most important.
- Our main goal is to introduce and train as many players as possible for big football, who started playing this year through tournaments and friendly matches, and to prepare them as best as possible for what awaits them in the future at this level. In the cockerel league, I expect us to play beautiful and appealing football with as many details and ideas as possible, which we implement through training, and from that every player as an individual progresses and becomes even better - concluded Slaviša Šuša.
