Behind the south of the Maracana - Younger youth winners of the prestigious tournament

That our Youth School does an excellent job when it comes to the development of young players is evidenced by the constellation of footballers who are currently in the first team of our club, and who made their first playing steps behind the south Maracana. However, in addition to the progress and development of the players, the Zvezda football academy also records excellent sports results.

Belgrade red and white were the best in the competition of eight clubs within the "Football Friends" tournament in Foca. The competition was attended by teams from the region, and in addition to our club, Ludogorets (Bulgaria), Rijeka (Croatia), Budućnost (Montenegro), Željezničar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Academy Pandev (Macedonia), Vojvodina (Serbia) and the host Sutjeska also participated. In the quarter finals, the younger players defeated Vojvodina with a score of 2:1. The first goal for Vladimir Sandulović's team was scored by Todor Topalović, and then Vuk Ivanović joined the scorers. Zvezda pearls then played against Rijeka in the semi-finals, and the match ended with a 1:0 victory for our team. After Todor Topalović forced a penalty, Stefan Mladenovski scored accurately from the penalty spot.

In the final, the younger youth team competed against Ludogorets. The match ended with the triumph of Crvena Zvezda after a better execution of penalties with a score of 7:6, while the regular course of the match ended without goals. Among the red and whites, the award for the best player of the tournament went to the talented center forward - Stefan Mladenovski.
