Zvezda played in Milan for the first time this season in the white, third set of jerseys, and the talented Maksimović was in the starting line-up, as in the 174th eternal derby. Also, Zvezda entered the match in a slightly different formation compared to the one we see most often since Vladan Milojević was the coach, so we played with three central defenders, while Seol and Olanjinka "held" the flanks. Glazer's net shook in the fourth minute, but Arnautovic was clearly offside, and the goal was disallowed. In the very next attack, Zvezda retaliated through Elšnik, who pulled the ball in the middle of the field after Endiaje had defended himself well, and then used Silas, who broke through on the right flank and sent a sharp pass into the box, where Sommer was ready to wait. The home team took the lead in the 11th minute when Calhanoglu hit the crossbar of Glazer's goal from just over 20 meters. He played for Elšnik, who found him behind the back of the defense with a deep pass, and Zvezda's teenager set himself up and shot from the left side diagonally just past the post. Mihtarian again had a good chance when, in the 38th minute, after a drop in concentration in the defense of our team, he shot from the left side over the crossbar. Silas had a great chance in the 41st minute when Olanjinka kicked him out in front of Somer, but the fast-footed offensive player was too oblique to the left, he shot cunningly with the "toe" of his boot, but hit the home goalkeeper in the head. Elšnik could have evened the score at the end of the first half after a sharp ball from Olanjinka, but the Slovenian representative was well marked, so it was difficult for him to shoot the way he wanted.

The Red Star players asked for a penalty kick in the 47th minute when Mihtarian played with his hand in his team's penalty area, but the German referee did not point to the penalty spot. Again, a drop in concentration caused us to concede a goal, and it was the 59th minute when Arnautovic beat Glazer. As if that inspired the host, who in the next few minutes had two good opportunities through Arnautovic and August, but Glazer made a fantastic save. Zvezda threatened in the 63rd minute through Maksimović, who again shot well from the left flank, but Sommer managed to control the ball. Milojević made a triple substitution in the 69th minute, so Ilić, Radonjić and Duarte found themselves in the field. However, the impression is that Zvezda was an equal rival for the entire 90 minutes, and that it did not deserve to lose so convincingly.
