IN MEMORIAM - BORA ĐORĐEVIC

Bora spent the last days of his life in a hospital in Ljubljana due to severe pneumonia, as well as worsening chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This morning, we received the sad news that Bora has left us. However, his hits will never be forgotten, and the connection with Red Star will forever be woven into the Maracana walls.

Many of Zvezda's songs, which he authored, will continue to be sung at our Maracana with the same pride. We will sing "Ponosan be proud", "Life", "Pobeda", "Mihajlo where are you" with all our hearts. And not only them, but the entire album "Pesme sa severa".

- Anyone who writes something wants the people to accept it. I am very glad that the song "Don't trust them son" sounds better when Delia sings it than when I sang it. I get goosebumps every time. I helped the fans when they called me. And I will do it again if there is an opportunity - said Bora, and there are many anecdotes from Bari when Zvezda became the champion of Europe.

- One fan told me quite seriously - if we hadn't won, we would have pierced the ship in the middle of the sea.

Bora Đorđević was born in Čačak on November 1, 1952. He started his musical career in his hometown in 1965 in the Hermelini band. After arriving in Belgrade, he was a member of several well-known groups, and in 1978 he founded the group Riblja chorba, after which he got his nickname.

The first concert of Riblja chorba was held in Elemir, Vojvodina, on August 26, 1978, while the first concert in Belgrade was held at Dom Omladine on February 28, 1979. The group released 20 studio albums, the first in 1979, and the last in 2019.

Bora attended the Fifth Belgrade Gymnasium, and after finishing it, he entered the Faculty of Law. After two years, he realized that this profession was not for him, so he tried to enter the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. Since he was not accepted for acting, he enrolled in theater organization at FDU.

How many hits and albums. Hits from the album "Bone in the throat", "Mortva priroda", "Truth", "Bite for the soul", and songs like "Doll from the front page", Good morning", "Stay garbage until the end" will always be sung.
