Red Star was defeated by Monaco in Monte Carlo in the third round of the Champions League, and Timi Max Elshnik expressed his impressions after the game.
- This was one of the most physically difficult matches in my career, but we expected that when we were preparing for the match. That's how it was, they are very aggressive, and we had a lot of problems in the game when we didn't stick to the agreed plan. The goal at the end of the first half threw us a little off the pace, if the result had remained unchanged, I think we would have played a lot easier in the rest. In the second half, we made a lot of mistakes in direct passing, and they took away the ball several times thirty meters from our goal. The injury to Duarte disrupted us, I don't know how it would have looked with him, but it certainly changed our plans, and it forced Sheriff to fight the opponents on his own in attack, and he did it in a great way. Bruno was supposed to be the second striker who "collects" those other balls with him, and in the end we changed a lot. Afterwards, there were also injuries, so in the end the concentration dropped, and that must not happen - concluded Elšnik.
