Crvena Zvezda is very pleased to present another reinforcement in the transfer window, given that Edmund Addo, a central midfielder from Ghana, signed a four-year contract with our club and took on jersey number 21.
Sports director Mitar Mrkela first addressed the media representatives present and introduced us to the qualities of Ada.
- Edmund Ado is a player from Ghana who comes to our club from Spartak Subotica. We wanted him in previous years, we failed to bring him, after that he lost a little from our focus, but he played a good half-season in Spartak. He is a young player, born in 2000, plays as a central midfielder, has experience in the Champions League and the national team. I believe that he will have good years at Zvezda and contribute to the success of the club - said Mrkela, after which he took a photo with the new reinforcements.
Ado is happy to finally be in the red and white jersey.
- They are great impressions, a really nice atmosphere greeted me at Maracana and I am happy to be here. I am excited to have the opportunity to play in front of Zvezda fans, I remember them well. It's been a long time of interest, and I'm aware of the expectations, so I'll do my best to make the fans proud. I adapted to life in Serbia, although it wasn't easy when I came, changes and all, but these six months helped me to get used to football and the conditions. I'm also slowly learning the language, the words I know may not be suitable for the conference, but I'll improve my vocabulary, it will be better the next time we talk - Ado laughed at the audience.
He had the opportunity to play at the Maracana in the Sheriff jersey, and his main impression was the fans.
- I remember the atmosphere and the fans, it was unreal. I will try to be even better in Zvezda than in Sherif and to help the team achieve its goals. I don't think about the competition, because I don't look at my teammates that way. We are all here for mutual success. When I get a chance on the field, I will do my best to use it - said Ado.
Edmund Ado was born on 17.5.2000. in Accra, the capital of Ghana. Already at the age of 18, he left his home country and joined Slovakian Senica, for which he scored three goals in 53 matches. He gained affirmation in Sherif, where he was considered the best footballer of the Moldovan team in the group stage of the Champions League, and managed to score a goal in 33 matches, and he comes to our club from Spartak Subotica. He is a standard representative of Ghana.
