The captain of Crvena zvezda - Milan Borjan, after the awarding of the trophy intended for the champion of Serbia, summed up his impressions after the end of another historic season.
- Credit for winning the double crown goes to the entire team, coaching staff, management and fans, who have been with us throughout the year. This is a really incredible feeling, six years in a row we have won the championship, three double crowns. We are writing history day by day, which is very important for such a big club. I am so proud to be the captain of this generation, emotions are mixed now. I believe that only tomorrow, when I wake up, I will be aware of what we have done - said Milan Borjan.
The captain thanked the fans for their incredible support throughout the season.
- Our fans push the limits day by day, from game to game. We expected them to make a spectacle, and that's what happened. Thank you to everyone who was at the stadium today, for supporting the team, believing in us, we returned them with the third double crown in the six years that I have been at the club. It is an honor and a privilege to give back to them in this way. It was a difficult season, but they showed that they are number one in the world.
Our team's goalkeeper also spoke about his ambitions for the next season.
- It can always do more and Zvezda always goes for more. The next year will be very busy for all of us. We will try to prepare as well as possible and show in the best possible light in the Champions League. We want to win the fourth double crown in a row and I hope that the stadiums will be more and more full, that the fans will grab tickets, because their support means a lot to us.
Even though the Red Star first team has a busy season behind them, there won't be too much time for Milan Borjan to rest.
- Tomorrow I will go on vacation, which will last two or three days, and then I have obligations with the national team, which will last more than a month, the semifinals and finals of the League of Nations, and then the Gold Cup. I won't be back until July 16 or 17, hopefully after winning the Gold Cup. Maybe I'll have a break for two to three days, and then we'll start attacking the new title, cup and preparations for the Champions League - concluded Milan Borjan.
