The match began with a minute's silence, and in that way the victims of the tragedy in Novi Sad, as well as the victims of the floods in Valencia, were honored. The youngsters of Crvena zvezda came into the duel highly motivated against a very strong opponent, and they threatened the team from Spain already in the first attack. After a long ball from the last line sent by Roganović, Đorđević found himself completely alone on the right flank, and then he sent a cross to Sremčević, whose shot ended up near the visitors' goal. In the 13th minute, Đurić played a great ball into the area past Šljivić, who was then illegally brought down in Barcelona's penalty area, and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Vasilije Kostov took full responsibility upon himself, and with a phenomenally executed penalty, he put Red Star in the lead in the 14th minute of the match.
The 15-year-old goalkeeper of our team - Savo Radanović made a fantastic save, after the kicks sent by the visitors from the edge of the penalty area. After our team scored a goal, the team from Catalonia took the field initiative, while our juniors responded with a very persistent and well-organized defense. Once again, Radanović stood out at the very end of the first part of the game, when he stopped the shot of the Barcelona winger with an attractive "parade". Đorđević ended a phenomenal penetration on the right flank in the 43rd minute of the game with a shot towards the small net of the Barcelona goal, but Jakobishvili managed to stop his attempt.
Barcelona players equalized in the 51st minute of the game with Alba's goal. Pradas brought a turnaround for the visiting team with a goal in the 54th minute of the game. The coach of our youth selection - Nenad Milijaš, made changes at the beginning of the second half, and by introducing fast-footed footballers on the field, he wanted to increase the dynamics of the game. Tošić, Zarić and Jovanović entered the game, replacing Đorđević, Tasić and Sremčević. Jovanović had a great opportunity in the 68th minute of the match, who shot after a cross from Đurić, but his great shot was blocked in the end. After the second conceded goal, the red and white youngsters took the initiative, and they were looking for opportunities from transition attacks. On several occasions, our juniors threatened from the break, but a little sporting luck was needed for the goal. He continued to change the head of our team's coaching staff, and at the end of the game, Markočević got his chance, who replaced Gaštarov. Reserve player Jovanović had another great opportunity to equalize in the 86th minute, but in the end a little bit of luck was missing to shake the net of the Catalans.
