Bahar: I understand the criticism, but I am convinced that we will make great successes

- I know you were disappointed that I didn't come to the press conference after the game on Wednesday. The reason is very simple - the fans wanted to talk to me and the players right after the game. It was a very honest and important conversation. I wanted to hear them, because I know how disappointed they were, and I wanted to show them respect. After that I went and sat down to talk to the club management. I want to be clear - I never run away from a question. I always take responsibility and that's why I invited you all to come today to talk and to answer all your questions - Bahar began.

It is clear to him the pressure that exists, due to the high expectations of the Zvezda public.

- You see, I really understand all the noise and pressure from the fans and the media. Expectations are high and that's how it should be. So far the results are not what we expected them to be. We started well in the preliminaries, as well as at the beginning of the Super League. All this caused great expectations. Maybe we weren't modest enough. Maybe. I have to admit that it took me a while to get a better understanding of the league. We paid for that - we lost two away games. It made a little mess in our system, because Crvena zvezda never loses in the domestic championship. I learned a lot from this, and we will certainly be ready for the next games.

Bahar analyzed the last three league games in more detail.

- Now I want to talk specifically about the last three games in the league: Javor, IMT and TSC. Because in those games, in my opinion, there was a big difference between the quality of the game and the result. You see, I'm not naive, I know that results are the most important thing in football. But I also believe in "the way". My way brought me success and brought me here. In those three games we totally dominated! Ball possession (Javor - 67 percent, IMT - 60 percent, TSC - 61 percent, and so far in the league we have 65.8 percent possession), pressing, shots (Javor - 30, IMT - 23, TSC - 23, opponents cumulatively 17, and so far in the league we have 20.6 shots per match), expected goals (Javor - 3.48, IMT - 3.21, TSC - 2.54, opponents in total 1.74, while we have 2.98 on average in the league), corners (Javor - 9, IMT - 11, TSC - 15, the opponents cumulatively 12, and in the league so far we take 7.42 corners per match). Rivals far less. We completely dominated the games! Yes, I know these are just numbers and details, statistics. The most important numbers are those in the table, and we are in second position, with minus six points. But if we continue on our way, make fine adjustments and adapt a little more - the results will come.

Bahar denies that, due to the events in Israel, he is not fully focused on his work at Zvezda.

- On a personal level, I would like to say a short sentence - My country is bleeding and everything that happens there hurts us, my family is at home and I haven't seen them for more than a month. I tell you this because I heard that my heart is not here, because of the situation in my country. I can tell you - it's absolutely the opposite! As for me - I have to bring success to this club. My colleagues and I work 24/7 and are completely focused. We arrive early, we go home late, because we know exactly how important Crvena zvezda is to fans, management and many people.

Bahar claims that the atmosphere in the team has not been disturbed.

- It is true that this year we have more foreign players. They are all good players, and most importantly good people. Some of them took me longer to connect, but we have a great team, a good dressing room and energy. If anyone says it's not true, they're bluffing. Now we are all together - players, coaching staff, management and fans. I promise you one thing - this club has a great future.

He also spoke about interruptions, that is, about the fact that Zvezda is insufficiently effective after corners.

- We don't score from corners, because we wave, but that's also part of the game. All the statistics are in our favor and if we continue like this, I'm sure the goals will come.

Bahar points out that he has the full support of the club's management.

- I am not afraid, because I believe in myself. I would not like to reveal the details of the conversation with the management, because it is between us. They wanted to hear from me what I thought about the team and the results, considering that we lost a lot of points. They wanted answers and they got them. I feel the full support of the management. I told them we are playing well and the results will come.

Bahar also spoke about the fact that Zvezda concedes goals from very few chances created by the opponent.

- I have details about the defense and how we should defend ourselves. Against us, every team scores a goal from a half-chance. Javor scored two goals from one shot. If we continue like this, the result will come and everything will be like at the beginning of the season.

Bahar believes in Zvezda.

- It doesn't go well with me to give up so easily. I believe in Zvezda, the team and the players. In the match against TSC, we found a balance between defense and attack. It will be seen in the next matches.

Bahar repeats once again that despite the situation in his homeland, he is focused on work.

- The situation in Israel is not good, but it can last for a long time and I have to focus on my team and work. I came here to succeed and help Zvezda rise to an even higher level. I know the results are not what we expected, but we have a good team. I believe that we will be better against Radnik.

The first obstacle is the Worker and that match is only thought about.

- Radnik is waiting for us on Saturday and we have to beat that. I don't mean Leipzig, but Radnik. After Saturday we have two days of preparation for Leipzig, but yes, if we win the next two games, we can turn the season in our favor.

Bahar points out that he understood the fans, and that the conversation was honest and sincere.

- I have experience talking to fans, because it was the same in Israel. I understand them, because they want results and for everyone to give their best. I think my players do that, but as far as results are concerned, they have to be better. The fans came and spoke from the heart, honestly and sincerely. We talked for about 40 minutes and I understood everything they asked us. We will do it.

He also explained the drop in concentration at the end of the match against TSC.

- We worked hard to score against TSC. They are a good team, but we controlled the game, attacked and deservedly scored. Unfortunately, we lost our focus at the end and in the last minutes, in practically the second attack of TSC for the whole game, we conceded a goal. We shouldn't have conceded a goal, but mistakes are an integral part of football. But all the responsibility is on me and I don't want to blame the players. We are focused on the next matches.

About the status of Jean-Philippe Crassot.

- Kraso played well against IMT and scored a goal, but we have three days of games, we have to rotate and choose 11 players who should start. Each match is its own story, the opponents are different. We don't have any football players who are dissatisfied with the playing time. It happens that someone is not in the protocol, but already plays in the next match, because he is right for that match.

Zvezda is six points behind, but there is still a lot to play for.

- We are under pressure because of the minus, not only me, but the entire club and star public. It didn't happen in recent years, but it also didn't happen that Partizan had 11 wins in a row like now. We have to be focused and win all the next games in the Superliga. The goal is to win the seventh title in a row, because we are a good team with quality. The title is won at the end of May, and we have to keep getting better.

Katai is still looking for full form.

- Katai was injured for a long time, but he is slowly coming back, which can be seen in training. But he is still not in the best shape. Had chances against IMT but no luck. He scored against TSC and it should have been the winner, but what is there is.

If Zvezda remains undefeated against Radnik, it will be a streak of 121 games at the Maracana without defeat in the championship, which would equal Real Madrid's world record.

- Records are not important for us, but winning, because we did not do that in the previous game. The focus is only on winning and regaining self-confidence - concluded Bahar.
