President Svetozar Mijailović and sports director Mitar Mrkela were the first to congratulate Maksimović on the contract, who spoke about the qualities of the gifted offensive player.

- Maksimović is the pearl of our Youth School and we were just waiting for the right moment when he will be a starter in a big game. It was the 174th eternal derby for him. Andrija started the game, played excellently and now everyone in Serbia and the world has become familiar with his quality, which we have known for a long time. The contract we are extending is a reward for the quality, effort and work he showed during his football upbringing in Zvezda. Congratulations to him, and to our academy, because we have a great football player who has a bright career ahead of him - said Mrkela.

Maksimović also spoke with a smile on his face after the initials.

- I am happy to have extended my contract with my beloved club. I will continue to train and work hard to prove that I can do even better. I played in the derby, I proved that I can deal with the first teams in the Super League, and I want to continue like that, so that in the future I can be a standard player at Red Star. After the derby, I want to make my debut in the Champions League - said Maksimović.
