It was one of those matches that never looked under control as a combination of poor pitch, strong wind and an extremely defensively setup home side all but ensured a nervous and ugly game at Inđija.
Gavrić has had a decent opportunity following a pass from Veljko Nikolić, but Preković managed to keep it out as both teams struggled to string passes and create moves worthy of mention.
The hosts took the lead against the run of play on 36 minutes when Ognjen Krasić made the most out of a crowded Zvezda box, and poke home amid confusion of Borjan and his defenders.
Mateo and Pavkov came on for second half as Dejan Stanković looked to shake thing up and provide some more attacking options. However, most attacks were reduced to long balls as deteriorating pitch simply didn't allow passes to be threaded between already numerous Inđija defenders. Ben proved Zvezda's impact player once more as he finished well from a Gobeljić's low cross and made it 1-1 with around 15 minutes left to be played.
Zvezda applied all the pressure, but Inđija survived to claim a point and frustrate the red and whites, who were left to prepare for the upcoming Večiti derbi. The final chance came right at the death, but defender Srđan Babić couldn't find the net from close range as Preković saved his team once more.
