It was a gorgeous day for football in Belgrade, and table-topping Crvena zvezda were ahead by two goals inside 20 minutes. It all looked easy, but Čukarički had other ideas and Simo Krunić's players drew level quickly before the break.
Marko Marin opened the scoring after some terrific work from Aleksa Vukanović before El Fardou Ben doubled the lead from the spot ten minutes later.
But former red and white Ognjen Mudrinski scored with a firm header just a couble minutes later to give hosts hope.
Luka Stojanović beat Milan Borjan with an excellent effort from outside the area on 38 minutes to complete Čukarički's comeback.
Crvena zvezda players were expected to get out after the break and restore the lead, but somehow everything went wrong for Vladan Milojević's men.
Things went from bad to worse on 67 minutes when Ognjen Mudrinski scored again against his own club to turn the result around in favour of Čukarički - it was 3-2!
Our team looked out of sorts and couldn't carve out real chances to get back into the game as Čukarički grew with confidence.
Late attempts from Marin didn't change the score and introduction of Jirka, Simić and Vulić did little to improve our fortunes.
This was our first defeat of the Superliga all season and first in the competition since October 2017.
